BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT n SHAKERS & MOVERS PC Aid of FL P C AID of FL debuted an intro- ductory article in IBA Success Magazine, Volume 3, Issue 4. The article appears on page 53 and can be reached using the following link: IBASuccessMagazine.com Now that you have read our introductory article, the next step to a healthy, stress- free relationship with your computer is to add all available security measures. Here’s why: 1. Protecting your PC is an essential part of protecting your personal information. Most of us do online shopping, online banking, online credit checks and online job applications to name a few. All of these things include delicate and sensitive personal information. 2. Any computer linked to High Speed Internet can be very much cash lucrative for you as well. The computer links us to new and unheard of job and/or investment opportunities. Once untapped, resources like the Library of Congress and the Vatican Library are just a key stroke away. 3. The more our future develops, the easier it is to manage using a computer linked to a High Speed Internet Connection. We can attend college, a vocational school, even high school from the comfort of our homes or any other preferred location. 4. It keeps us connected to our loved ones. So you not only owe it to yourself, but to them, to protect the information shared. Since 1990, computer viruses h ave become much more prevalent and are known for data breaches that affect individuals and major corporations. As you can see, all of the above, and many not mentioned, are great reasons to protect your computing devices (desktops, laptops, smartphones, smart tablets, and smart TV’s and even iPhones). You never know when or how a third unknown, unwanted party will attach themselves to your devices, attacking you and your loved ones! Can you be fully aware of these attacks? Not yet. But in the meantime I urge you to install all available anti-malware applications in your devices and run them frequently. I urge you to as soon as possible, back up all data on these devices. Any data that does not contain sensitive information (driver’s license, social security number, bank accounts, etc.) can be backed up to either your Microsoft One Drive, Google Drive, DropBox, etc. Any documents that contain sensitive information, I suggest you either save to a flash drive, or if they must be in electronic form on a smart device, then use a secure folder on your smart devices, a secure flash drive or any other encrypted online storage format. George Page of PC Aid of Central Florida is an excellent source for guiding you toward protecting your sensitive information! He awaits the opportunity to assist you. Do not leave yourself and your loved ones vulnerable.
