WHAT MOTIVATES ME? Alysse believes,“ We all have natural God-given skills and sometimes it’ s difficult for people to identify what those skills are. My career has given me so much knowledge within an industry that many people don’ t know anything about, yet, they are ALL a part of. I’ m speaking of the job market. I’ ve identified that my skill is having compassion for others and the desire to give everyone the knowledge I’ ve acquired through being a recruiter.”
While most people within the HR and Recruiting industry hold this knowledge and information in, Alysse has been sharing it with the world.
Alysse stated,“ Society is all about consumption and taking from the world, I feel I need to give what I’ ve been afforded in my career, which is knowledge. If I’ m using my God-given talents to help others, I’ ll continue to be successful.”
MY STORY … Alysse’ s career evolved to not only finding the best talent in the industry but also helping America get back to work. As a recruiter, she had the difficulty turning candidates down after they interviewed.
“ For every one person I hired, I have to turn down a least 10. Those are the
|
worst calls to make, and I must do it daily. Calling someone to let them know they didn’ t get the job of their dreams is heart breaking and takes a toll on my emotional health.”
She recalls when she attended career fairs in the community,“ I remember attending certain career fairs and watching candidates walk booth to booth, résumés in hand, professionally dressed, excited but also with the look of desperation. A lot of those people looked like my father, mother, brother, or grandparents. I watched as they walked from each employer and could see their energy and excitement die as they approached the last booth. Their faces broke my heart, and I thought, who am I to tell them they can or can’ t work at my employer?”
She sadly remembers what she did after the career fairs,“ I would sit in my
|
car and cry for those people who were unemployed. I cried because I didn’ t have jobs for them, I cried because I knew they had to go home and tell their spouse or children that they didn’ t find anything, I cried because they were doing everything right but still couldn’ t provide for their families, it was absolutely heart breaking.
THE RECRUITING SNITCH IS BORN. About five years ago she couldn’ t take it anymore, so she did something to help those people who weren’ t selected for the job. She decided to write, The Recruiting Snitch, Recruiting Secrets to Help Land Your Dream Job, to give people tools and tips to help them get an offer, not a turn down call.
“ At least now I can offer some help to those candidates that I don’ t hire.”
