During the last two years, I have personally experienced so many life lessons. Some have been joyous, while others have been painful. It has been difficult at times to stay focused and grounded because of the many distractions that face me every day.

I must be real with you, there were many times I was ready to walk away from it all. I thought I was at the point of no return … ready to trade in my heels and suits and jump back in to my Jordan’ s, Jeans and faithful money maker … my ice cream truck. Does that mean I was failing at my mission, or exhausted with the struggle? Who knows, because I dug a little deeper.

There are still days of sleepless nights, tears from stressing about how the bills are going to get paid, aggravation from hearing repeatedly,“ Can I get a discount?” But then I look up and see the very ones who drove me to make the decision to step out on faith looking at me every day. How could I disappoint them; how could I disappoint myself? The answer appeared like a thief in the night. You can’ t. You can’ t stop. You can’ t quit!

I quickly realized that I have the power to withstand life’ s adversities and the strength to get back up and keep pursuing my goals. No matter what I have been through, I have come through it stronger, wiser and even more resilient.

One thing that I will proudly carry into 2017 is my dedication to my dreams. As we start a new year, unsure of what is in store for our futures, I wish dedication to all. Be dedicated to who you are, what you believe in and success will surely follow.
