In the US, there are approximately 1.2 million people living
with HIV/AIDS, and 1 in 8 are unaware they are infected
with this disease. The populations at greatest risk for HIV/
AIDS are young African American and Hispanic men and
women that continue to be disproportionately affected by
the disease. Therefore, at Let’s Beehive! Inc., it is our mission to provide
innovative HIV/AIDS health education and prevention
programs for children and adults to increase HIV awareness,
reduce transmission of new HIV infections, and improve
therapeutic outcomes among those living with HIV/AIDS.
Early detection can save lives, but HIV education can too!
Even though HIV is a preventable disease, people who
are unaware of their HIV diagnosis have the potential to
unknowingly transmit HIV to others, hence perpetuating
the spread of HIV/AIDS. Research has shown, when people
know they are HIV positive, they take the necessary steps
to protect themselves and prevent HIV from spreading to
others. Increasing one’s awareness and teaching effective
prevention strategies is the key to combating HIV/
AIDS. Research has also shown, for every HIV infection
prevented, the health-care system will save $360,000 in
