COVER STORY Maurita Sutton Brown PhD Candidate, LIFE COACH & SIMPLY MAURITA A As a little girl, I knew there was a big world out there and I wanted to be a part of it. I am that extraordinary girl who wanted it all and went after it. I never thought my life experiences would inspire me to share them with women around the world. My foundation as a woman was set in me at a very young age. The idea to organize came to me as a young child. I learned my organizational skills from my grandmother, Dorothy. She instilled in me to respect my mind, body and home. She always reiterated the necessity to pray to God daily, early in the morning. On August 25, 2001, I married the man God destined for me who loves God, is my life partner, head of our household, daddy to our children and giver to my soul, David Howard Brown. This man, from day one, has allowed me to love with freedom, to know God for myself without judgment, breathe life into my innovations and ideals, and most of all, love me unconditionally as his wife. I 26 IBA Success Magazine n VOL 4, Issue 2 As a teenager, my mom supported me in my club memberships and sports in high school. Yes, I was that loud roaring cheerleader. I was also the President of the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). At that time, I was excited and looking forward to graduating and starting my life as an adult. During my early twenties, I became a single mom to two beautiful little girls. I could only do one thing outside of working a part time job and that was to get a degree from a university. I planned a future of events that would last a life time. I am Blessed! The first bachelor’s degree allowed me to start my design business.
